A helpful map before the legal road

The notes in this section are added to help you navigate the formal terms below. They are not a replacement for the Standard Terms and Conditions or the Group insurance policy wording. The original extracts appear further down this page and take precedence.

Please note: Insurance is not added automatically. During booking, you must select the insurance option on the portal and indicate the value of the consignment to be insured.

Use this as a signpost, then read the actual extracts below for the full wording.

No insurance selected

Limited liability only

Where insurance is not selected, recourse is limited to the liability cover set out in Clause 14. This is limited to R1,000 or the actual value of the loss or damage, whichever is the least, and also excludes theft, robbery, hijacking, accidents and third-party actions.

Insurance selected

Declared value matters

To arrange insurance, the insurance option must be selected on the portal and the value of the consignment must be indicated. An insurance premium is charged for this option.

Policy exclusions

Some goods are excluded

The Group insurance policy extract lists goods excluded from cover, including certain valuables, regulated goods, PPE-related products, second-hand items and items removed from original packaging, except for total loss.
